OSRS Ironman Turael Skipping Guide: Optimal Inventory & Teleports
Turael skipping is how ironmen farm Slayer points efficiently. The loop: do 9 tasks from Turael (0 points, fast kills), get your 10th task from Konar for the 5x point boost, then immediately return to Turael and repeat the 9+1 cycle. Each Turael task is extremely rapid - cows, goblins, and rats are the fastest. The Cowbell amulet (from The Ides of Milk quest, no requirements) is the best single teleport item: it lands you at the Lumbridge cow field, putting Cows, Birds (Seth Groats' chickens next door), and Goblins (just east) all within steps. Always carry ice coolers (Lizards), a light source (Cave Bugs/Slime), and a Games necklace for Burthorpe. Switch to Lunar spellbook at 67 Magic for NPC Contact, which eliminates the Burthorpe return trip entirely.
What Is Turael Skipping?
Turael is the lowest-level Slayer master, located in Burthorpe. He assigns easy tasks (cows, goblins, bats, etc.) with 15-30 kills each.
“Turael skipping” means getting a task from Turael, blitzing through it, then going back to your real Slayer master (Duradel, Konar, Nieve) for a new assignment. You do this to:
- Reset an unwanted task without spending 30 Slayer points on a skip
- Build streak milestones - every 10th, 50th, 100th, etc. task from a high-level master gives bonus points, and Turael tasks count toward the streak
- Target specific tasks - keep skipping until Duradel gives you the boss task or assignment you want

Normal vs Lunar Spellbook
The biggest decision for Turael skipping is your spellbook. Here’s when each one wins.
Normal Spellbook
Best when: You’re early-mid game, don’t have house tabs, or lack jewellery coverage.
You keep direct teleports to Lumbridge (cows, goblins, spiders), Varrock (minotaurs, rats), Falador (icefiends, dwarves), and Ardougne (bears). You physically travel to Turael after each task via Games necklace → Burthorpe.
Cost per skip: ~15 seconds of travel time to Burthorpe after each task.
Lunar Spellbook
Best when: You have 67 Magic, Lunar Diplomacy completed, house tabs, and enough jewellery or fairy ring access to cover your teleport needs.
The key spell is NPC Contact (67 Magic, 2 Air + 1 Astral + 1 Cosmic). Right-click → “Last NPC (Turael)” to get a new task from anywhere. No return trip needed.
Cost per skip: 0 seconds of travel time. You lose Standard teleports but replace them with house tabs → POH hub → jewellery box / fairy ring / portal nexus.
Lunar Becomes Dominant With POH
At 91 Construction (Ornate Jewellery Box) and 85 Construction (POH Fairy Ring), your house becomes a teleport hub that covers every destination in the game. The loop becomes:
- Complete task
- Cast NPC Contact → get new task
- Use a carried item directly, or house tab → POH → Jewellery Box or Fairy Ring → next task location
- Repeat
This is the endgame Turael skipping setup.
Task Overview
Turael assigns 24 different tasks with a total weight of 172. The most common tasks (weight 8) are: Banshees, Cave Bugs, Cave Crawlers, Cave Slime, Cows, Crawling Hands, Icefiends, and Lizards.
Special Requirements
Some tasks need specific items in your inventory:
- Lizards: Ice coolers required (buy from any Slayer master, or unlock the Reptile Freezer perk for 10 points to automate)
- Cave Bugs / Cave Slime: Light source required (Kandarin headgear works and never extinguishes)
- Banshees: Earmuffs or Slayer helmet required
- Cave Crawlers / Cave Slime: Antipoison recommended
Fastest Tasks
When you get these, celebrate. Done in under a minute:
- Cows: Cowbell amulet to Lumbridge cow field (direct), or Lumbridge tele + run NE
- Goblins: Cowbell amulet to cow field, then goblins just east across River Lum, or Lumbridge tele
- Birds: Cowbell amulet to cow field, then Seth Groats’ chicken coop immediately adjacent, or Combat bracelet to Champions’ Guild
- Rats: Ring of dueling to Ferox Enclave, 1-2 HP each
Slowest Tasks
These take the longest due to travel or mechanics:
- Dogs: Scattered spawns, desert travel if doing jackals
- Lizards: Must use ice coolers on each kill below 4 HP
- Bears: Spread across wide areas
What About Mazchna Skipping?
Mazchna (Canifis) gives 6 points per task after his August 2025 buff (up from 2). This raises the question: is doing 49 Mazchna tasks and using Konar only for the 50th more efficient than Turael?
The maths per 50-task cycle:
| Method | Points |
|---|---|
| Turael ×49 + Konar at every 10th (standard) | 630 pts |
| Mazchna ×49 + Konar at 50th only | 660 pts |
Mazchna edges ahead by 30 points per cycle because his 6 pts per task adds up across the 45 non-milestone tasks, partially offsetting the weaker milestone payouts (Mazchna at 10th/20th/30th/40th gives 30 pts each vs Konar’s 90 pts each).
But Turael wins on points per hour. Mazchna tasks run 30–50 kills vs Turael’s 10–30. You’ll also get slower assignments (Killerwatts, Catablepon, Vampyres) that take real time to finish. Mazchna also requires Priest in Peril to access Canifis.
Krystilia Skipping (Wilderness Slayer)
Krystilia, located in the Wilderness Resource Area, assigns wilderness-only tasks and gives 25 points per task base - one of the highest rates in the game. The catch is you need to survive the wilderness to complete each task.
The trick: if Krystilia gives you an unwanted task, skip it with Turael. This resets your Krystilia-specific task streak but leaves your main slayer streak (built with Nieve, Konar, or Duradel) completely intact.
Tasks Worth Keeping From Krystilia
- Revenants - the primary target. Revenant emblems, dragon items, and high GP drops. By far the best wilderness Slayer task for ironmen
- Bears / Spiders / Skeletons - fast kills, good for Wilderness Slayer experience, overlap with Wilderness bosses area
- Boss tasks (Chaos Fanatic, Crazy Archaeologist, Scorpia, Venenatis, Vet’ion) - unique drops and good XP
- Barrageable tasks - if you have an accursed sceptre, any large multicombat wilderness task becomes very fast XP
Tasks Worth Skipping
Anything that requires deep wilderness travel without meaningful reward. Hellhounds, Ankou, and Spiritual creatures can be done outside the wilderness on a normal task - getting them from Krystilia just adds unnecessary risk.
Tips for Efficient Skipping
- Right-click “Last NPC” on NPC Contact to skip the interface. Goes straight to Turael with no menu
- Bring a cannon for outdoor multicombat tasks like goblins and rats (Varrock Sewers). Can’t be used inside dungeons, but great for outdoor spawns
- Keep your rune pouch stocked - running out of NPC Contact runes mid-session is painful
- Bank at Ferox Enclave (Ring of dueling) between tasks if you need supplies. It has a bank and a restoration pool
- Don’t overthink slow tasks - even the worst Turael task takes under 3 minutes. Just finish it and move on
