Connection to Fishing & Food Guides
The Complete Ironman Loop
- Fishing → Catch raw fish
- Cooking → Cook into food
- Food Guide → Use in PvM (combo-eating strategy)
This trifecta is the foundation of Ironman progression. You’re never buying food from shops - you’re producing all your own supplies.
Cost Efficiency
- Material cost: 0 GP (all from personal fishing)
- Total time investment: 40-60 hours cooking
- Food output: 5,000-10,000+ cooked fish (depends on fishing)
- Value: Sustains 500+ hours of Slayer/bossing
Common Mistakes
❌ Skipping Mess Hall - Try to rush to Hosidius early ❌ Not unlocking Hosidius - Inefficient burning at higher levels ❌ Cooking beef/chicken past level 20 - Wrong methods for your level ❌ Using 1-tick karambwan without understanding it - Burns out before reaching 99 ❌ Not dual-training with Fishing - Waste synergy opportunity ❌ Cooking everything to completion - Cook what you catch, store raw if not needed
FAQ
Can I AFK cook entirely? Yes. Anglerfish 84-99 is very AFK (~15 second intervals). But 1-tick karambwan is faster if you’re willing to focus.
When should I cook food vs store raw? Cook as you go while Fishing. You’ll naturally have thousands of cooked food by 99. Store raw only if inventory is full.
Is cooking cape worth getting? Yes at 99 Cooking. Provides 100% success rate on all foods + Defence bonus. Can remove gauntlets after.
How much total food will I have by 99 Cooking? If dual-training with Fishing: 3,000-5,000+ cooked fish depending on method. Enough for months of PvM.
Can I do 1-tick for the entire 99? Technically yes, but burn-out risk is high. Most players do 1-tick 95-99 (final push) to stay engaged, then AFK for lower levels.
